"Preparing for the Ultimate Adventure: A Trip to Antarctica!"

Updated: Apr 4

I can't wait to share the story behind my upcoming adventure to Antarctica! As someone with a long list of dream destinations, I knew that timing was key. Before the pandemic turned everything upside down a few years ago, my friend Mark and I were determined to make our birthdays extraordinary. Both of us had our hearts set on exploring the wonders of Antarctica, so we dove into extensive research on how to make it happen. However, the prices we encountered were mind-boggling. "There's no way I can afford that," I thought.

Nevertheless, we set a budget and patiently waited for an opportunity to arise. Unfortunately, COVID-19 had other plans, and all our travel aspirations were put on hold. But in 2024, the wait is finally over, and I'm thrilled to announce that I'm heading to Antarctica!

I'm always on the hunt for online travel bargains. I have a few favorite websites that I rely on, and one day in June, I stumbled upon an irresistible deal. My friend Mark and I debated whether or not to take the plunge and book it. It was a fantastic flash sale offering a discounted trip to Antarctica. We had a short time frame to make the reservation before the sale ended. Thankfully, we managed to secure the deal and now had six months to save and plan for the upcoming journey.

Our journey begins in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where we will spend two nights exploring all this fantastic city offers. Afterward, we will board a charter flight to Ushuaia, Argentina, and embark on an unforgettable expedition cruise to Antarctica. The crossing of the Drake Passage may be a bit rough, but I am fully prepared for it. Once we reach Antarctica, we can go kayaking, take a polar plunge in the Antarctic Waters, and even hike to see the penguins. As it will be pretty cold, I am packing plenty of layers to keep warm. After spending time in Antarctica, we will cross the Drake Passage and fly back to Buenos Aires.

I enjoy creating my travel plans. Sometimes, though, I have to work around pre-packaged deals like this one. Once we return to Buenos Aires, my friend Mark and I will extend our stay for an extra night. The following day, we'll catch a flight to Iguazu Falls. I've heard it's a breathtaking destination. We'll thoroughly explore what Iguazu offers and walk across the bridge to Paraguay. After spending a night there, we'll fly to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. There's so much to see and do in that city. We'll visit Sugarloaf Mountain, see the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, and explore the vibrant city and its beautiful beaches.

I'll update you with many incredible moments on my Instagram (@travelsbylance). If there's something specific you'd like to see or if you simply want to say hi, feel free to shoot me a message. I'm excited to show you all the wonders of this journey!
