I am always looking for travel bargains and new destinations to visit. Every Wednesday, www.travelzoo.com releases its top 20 destination deals. Occasionally, they offer exceptional deals. I typically only consider a good deal when it includes both airfare and hotel accommodations. There are some other sites that offer deals occasionally, also.

For instance, I once discovered a round-trip flight and hotel stay with breakfast in Dublin, Ireland, for only $599. Such deals capture my interest. Airfare and hotels are typically the most costly aspects of any trip. Finding a package that includes both for such a reasonable price is a no-brainer to book. Companies often entice you to book a deal but then try to sell you additional tours, extra days, car rentals, and more. I always decline and organize my tours, rent my cars, and plan my entire trip independently. You need to be flexible to take advantage of some of these deals. Sometimes, the deals are considered "flash" deals, and you have only a short window to book the trip. If you are flexible with your schedule or know you will have some time off shortly, it's always a good idea to keep an eye out for travel deals

If you see a good airfare deal with a hotel stay included, book it! You can plan your activities on your own using a search engine. For instance, use Google to find events during your stay and buy tickets for attractions and skip-the-line passes. Also, use Google to search for the top things to do at that location and see if anything interests you. There are lots of websites with offers for booking activities like Get Your Guide, Viator, and many more.
